If you are a keen amateur musician looking for an opportunity to play a wide range of great orchestral music on a regular basis, with a group of friendly, enthusiastic colleagues, Harrogate Symphony Orchestra may be perfect for you.

We are fortunate to have regular players in most sections – indeed this is a real strength of our orchestra – but we’re also always keen to welcome new players and provide an opportunity to make music.

There are no formal auditions, but you’ll need to be a confident player of around Grade 8 standard.

Rehearsals

We rehearse from 7:15pm to 9:45pm every Thursday evening during school term times, at St John’s Primary School in Knaresborough.

You can park in the playground to the left of the building and you can use the local streets as an overflow. Please be considerate of local residents, other players coming to park, and school staff who sometimes stay late.
